Jesus is God's Greatest Gift to Mankind: Happy Xmas: Salamat Po Panginoon Ako'y Isinilang

There are many Christians in the world do not believed that December 25 is Jesus' birthday. Based from the recorded history - December 25 is the birthday of Sol Invictus ("Unconquered Sun") which was the official sun god of the later Roman Empire and a patron of soldiers.

The theory dating from the 12th century, that the near-solstice date of 25 December for Christmas was selected because it was the date of the Roman festival of Dies Natalis Solis Invicti (Birthday of the Unconquered Sun) is challenged by some Christian scholars. Different explanations for the date similarity are considered to be "academically thoroughly viable hypotheses" by some. Both theories have supporters, with some claiming that the festival of Dies Natalis Solis Invicti was later syncretized with Christmas and others saying that the Christian celebration may predate the festival of the Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Date changes especially if people or group of people wanted to change it but the message why people celebrate that occasion on that day cannot be changed. The message is clear and it is all about the Greatest Gift why God in heaven has sent off His beloved Son to mankind.

Higit limang dekadang nabubuhay

Nang ako’y unang umiyak sa dibdib ni Nanay

Kahit sa gitna ng hirap at lumbay

Ang kabataan ko’y makulay...

 

Ilang bagyo ang dumaan

Ang pag-iyak ko’y ‘di ko mabilang

Maraming pagkulog at pagkidlat

Ang aking nakita at narinig

Katawan ko’t isipan ay nanginginig

Ngayon heto ako’t patuloy na naglalakbay

Higit limampung taon na nabubuhay

Ng pag-ibig at pagmamahal

Salamat Panginoon, ako’y isinilang!
